#DawaKaHaq: Access to Essential Medicines Still Remains a Key Question

Even though India has some of the most luxurious hospitals in the world yet in a single year about 5.5 crore Indians were pushed into poverty as a result of unaffordable health care costs and 3.8 crore of them fell below the poverty line due to high expenditure on medicines alone. Many people like Mr Naik do not have enough money to buy medicines or get treatment. Due to which, neither was he able to treat his leg after an accident nor save his daughter from Tuberculosis. Many children become malnutrition because medicines are either unavailable or unaffordable.
