Effective use of monitoring and evaluation systems in improving maternal health: a case study in six states of India

"Striving towards Oxfam India’s vision of ‘right to life with dignity for all’, an initiative‘Improving Maternal Health In Six States of India’ was conceptualised under the Global Poverty Action Fund (GPAF) with support from the Department for International Development (DFID) for the period of three years (2012-15). Under this project, the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework was developed in such a manner that all the project stakeholders could directly measure the degree to which the intervention would bring about sustainable changes in their lives. This learning note provides an opportunity to learn about developing MEL framework which ensures mutli-stakeholder accountability and sharing of learning across all levels. "
